Bookshare Locations Bookshares are a partnership between our Outreach Services and local businesses who have generously allowed us to use their space. Please use Bookshare courteously. The items on the bookshare carts are donated. You don't have to leave a book in order to take one, and please respect our site hosts by not dropping off donations en masse. Please also note that you can not return library owned items to a Bookshare shelf.

Non-Resident Card People who live outside of Coos County are welcome to visit any of the libraries and use many of the resources and services. To receive full services and borrowing privileges, they may purchase a library card. Who is a Resident? Anyone who resides within the boundaries of Coos County, Oregon. Anyone who owns or pays taxes on property located within the boundaries of Coos County, Oregon. How do non-residents get a library card? Visit any of the Coos County Public Libraries or Southwestern Oregon Community College Library. Show current photo ID, proof of current mailing address, and proof of current home address. Pay the non-resident fee of $100 per year. One fee covers individual cards for all members of a household (each person must be present to receive card). Credit and debit cards are not accepted. Non-resident cards must be renewed each year in person. How is the amount of the non-resident fee determined? Residents and non-residents pay approximately the same amount, one through taxes, the other through fees. Please place them on hold and when you are eligible to check it out it will add it to your checkouts. You can still checkout other titles though so please try others. Privacy Policy The libraries of Coastline Libraries protect the confidentiality of library patron records under Oregon State Law, ORS 192.355.23. This statute provides the following exemption from disclosure of library public records: The records of a library, including: (a) Circulation records, showing use of specific library material by a named person (b) The name of a library patron together with the address or telephone number of the patron (c) The electronic mail address of a patron. The information gathered when obtaining a library account will include but is not limited to: Name Address Phone number Email Date of birth Libraries have the responsibility to protect each individual borrower’s right to privacy with respect to registration records (information required to become eligible to borrow books and other materials, receive email and SMS messaging services) and circulation records (information which identifies materials borrowed by a patron). Such records are not to be revealed to anyone other than the patron without the express written permission of the patron or adherence to proper legal procedures. Any information regarding patron use, or request for use, of specific materials, services, facilities or electronic resources (including internet usage) shall only be released to the person who requested or obtained the materials and services. All patrons have the right to opt in or out of SMS messaging or email service at any time by contacting their library.
